"An election now - when things are relatively stable – will clear the decks, and give the new Government a fresh 5-year mandate," said Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in a televised address on Tuesday (Jun 23). PM Lee says with arrangements and precautions in place, "I am confident we can hold a proper and safe election". Nomination Day in Singapore will be on Jun 30 and Polling Day will be on Jul 10.
