Scott Morrison ‘has a difficult job, but it’s one I want’: Albanese

Scott Morrison ‘has a difficult job, but it’s one I want’: Albanese Labor Leader Anthony Albanese says Prime Minister Scott Morrison has implemented some coronavirus regulations which are “really working” so far during the deadly pandemic and wants to ensure a "constructive" approach is taken with the government.

The Opposition leader told Sky News host Chris Kenny while he believes Scott Morrison currently has a “difficult job” on his hands, but it is indeed a job that “I do want,” he said.

Mr Albanese said, himself and his party have aimed to be “as constructive as possible” during this entire issue and paid the government credit for having “changed their position” on a wage subsidy package for Australians.

He said, “what we’ve seen on issues like social distancing is really working now … (and) it is starting to flatten the curve”.

“The fact is everyone is putting their shoulder to the wheel (and) when the government has got things right, we’ve given them credit”.

He also thought the current crisis has brought Australians “together” and that everyone is trying “to do their bit” to get through this pandemic.
