'Quite clearly' the intention is to 'ease restrictions'

'Quite clearly' the intention is to 'ease restrictions' Political consultant Jim Middleton has spoken with Sky News about what restrictions he believes may be eased in Victoria on Sunday.

Mr Middleton referred to comments made by Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews on Tuesday morning's address, claiming he believed restrictions would likely ease regardless of state benchmarks.

"Quite clearly from what he was saying this morning, the intention is to ease restrictions despite the fact that the benchmarks were set a few months ago are now impossible to meet in the time frame that was laid out," Mr Middleton said.

Mr Middleton said, "I suspect that the 5 kilometre rule, that is the rule which prevents people within Metropolitan Melbourne moving beyond 5 kilometres of their homes, that that will go".

"Beyond that, I'm not sure whether there will be much else," he said.
