The Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement will come into force on July 5 and will enhance economic cooperation and trade between the two nations.
Mr Springer told Sky News host Chris Kenny this was good news at a time when “protectionism is rampant”.
"It's a tool for depending economic ties".
He said the move “locks in Australia as Indonesia’s preferred agricultural partner” and the nation’s “preferred food security partner”.
“It also helps Australia diversify markets for its agricultural products”.
