Coronavirus: Yoga enthusiasts bend the rules at hot yoga dome pop-up in Toronto

Coronavirus: Yoga enthusiasts bend the rules at hot yoga dome pop-up in Toronto After months of taking classes online due to COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, some yoga enthusiasts in Toronto, Ontario were able to mark the International Day of Yoga on June 21, practising their poses in individual clear geodesic domes.

The event, which lasts until July 31, is hosted by Lmnts Outdoor Studio and partnered with six local studios. Each student is assigned their own dome, which stands more than 7 ft tall and 12 ft wide, and has built-in heating regulation that creates a similar atmosphere to a hot yoga studio.

The 50 domes are cleaned and disinfected after every use to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Organizers said they decided to launch the event following the abrupt closure of all non-essential businesses amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
