Noh Salleh - 'Come Back Again' (#TOTPcovers Day 8)

Noh Salleh - 'Come Back Again' (#TOTPcovers Day 8) NOTE: Due to a family emergency, leading to the mystery act for Day 7 unable to finish their video in time, we're moving up the songs on the tracklist and will slot in Day 7 ("Say Hi") later on, so we'll go straight to day 8 today!!

For day 8 of the #TOTPcovers project, we're thrilled to have our dear old friend Noh Salleh, one of the country's biggest rock stars with his band Hujan, giving "Come Back Again" that sweet J-rock/anime theme song meets The Strokes treatment that he's made his trademark during Hujan's early days.

Speaking of Hujan, our first face to face encounter with Noh was when we asked Hujan to play at a gig we organised for Indonesian indie heavyweights Sore in Little Havana, Changkat Bukit Bintang quite some time back, we forgot the date. Our first online encounter was of course on Myspace, where we first heard Noh's magical songs, especially the then future hit "Pagi Yang Gelap", which made us excited to put them on the same bill with Sore (and us, of course, haha).

Fast forward just about 1-2 years later, and the rest, they say, is history, as Hujan swept all before them on their way to become one of the country's biggest rock bands, and Noh himself paved a hugely impressive solo career as well on the side.

And don’t forget that Noh will also have the vinyl of his debut album Angin Kencang out on the 20th June at Teenage Head Records together with us! Kita geng lahhh!!

When we approached Noh to do this, it's quite clear in our heads what a blast it would be to hear Noh's interpretation of "Come Back Again", which was very much our tip of the hat to The Strokes in our debut album, and he definitely did not disappoint with this hugely addictive take. Power wehhh!!
