CJ Maraga fires back: Maraga cautions Uhuru over the executive order, says judiciary is independent The president's executive order no 1 of 2020 continues to elicit mixed reactions. Chief justice David Maraga has in a statement today said "an executive order cannot restructure or assign functions to the judiciary or the chief justice or the judicial service commission"... CJ Maraga goes on to say the judiciary is neither a ministry nor a government department that can be organized by executive order.
