Coronavirus outbreak: BC Hydro announces 3 month relief for customers impacted by virus On Wednesday, British Columbia’s Premier John Horgan said that BC Hydro will offer a three month credit on hydro bills for individuals who are out of work, or have reduced wages due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as a 1 per cent reduction for all BC Hydro customers. He added they will also give the option to large industrial customers to have 50 per cent of their payments deferred for the next three months.

Energy minister Bruce Ralston said that the credit provided to residential customers does not have to be repaid and will amount to approximately $477 in savings. He added that small businesses that have been forced to close will have their power bills forgiven between April and June.
