Coronavirus in India: 909 new cases, 34 deaths reported in last 24 hours, informs Govt With 909 fresh cases of Covid-19, the total number of infections in the country has reached 8,356, while the death toll has increased to 273, confirmed the health ministry. As many as 716 people have been discharged from the hospital after recovering from the disease. Currently, India has a capacity of around 1,05,000 beds in 601 hospitals dedicated to Covid-19 patients, informed the health ministry. "As per April 9 data, if we needed 1,100 beds we had 85,000 beds. Today when we need 1,671 beds, then we have 1,05,000 beds in the dedicated 601 COVID-19 hospitals," said Agarwal.
