Thousands of migrants flocked to the city's main bus terminus to go home as the city began battling the Covid-19 scare. People afraid of contracting the illness or fearing job losses have been leaving the city in droves. However, experts say it is unwise to travel at this time, as there is higher chances of contracting the infection during travel. Also, the native places of the migrants could also become an infection hotbed if a few from the city carry the infection back home.
